Lucia is the first crowd funded Kannada movie directed by Pawan Kumar of Lifeu Ishtene(watch life ishtene) fame. The film got premiered in London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) and won the prestigious “Audience Choice Best Film Award” amidst the stiff competition from Bollywood biggies (Bombay Talkies, Monsoon Shootout etc).

This movie is one of the most awaited Kannada movie of the year 2013.

Let me tell you, how I started associating with Project Lucia. As I was staying in Hyderabad for 2 years not seen a single Kannada movie released there. Not even cable operator in PG used to telecast a single kannada TV channel...Situation is always different in Bangalore, all the other language movies released on the same day of movie release. 

Here I clearly found the difference between kannada Industry and other Industries, that even the low budget Malayalam movies used to get released in other states why can't kannada movies are not doing.
Reasons would be following..

-- Myth1, Kannada movies don't have good market in and outside karnataka
-- Myth2, Low budget movies can't be good or don't fetch good returns
-- Myth3, remaking successful movies in other industry will be more safer to invest. 
-- Good Big budget movies fails to expand their market space

I'm impressed by the songs of the movie "Life Ishtene" and I wanted to watch the movie. Fortunately there was a website called www.hometalkies.com started by Pawan Kumar, which was showing movie online.
I paid the amount and watched through Singapore vpn :) (Since the movie was not showing for Indian users).
Thats how I started appreciating Pawan Kumar attempt to reach out those market that never reached before. Through my friend I came to know that Pawan kumar needs investors for his project Lucia.
Movie making is started by collecting budget of 51 lacks in 21 days from 67 people.
Pawan never had expected such a overwhelming response from the people and he kick started
the project. Following are the some of the events during the movie making..

- He shared his new model of film making to the world through social websites and resulted in Young Creative Entrepreneur Award (DIGITAL FOR CREATIVE INDUSTRIES AWARD) from the British Council
- Audition is done for the movie and Yogaraj Bhat also supported the audition. Resulted in finding very talented local talents. By this process they could able to have good database of talents for future films. Poornachandra Tejaswi is one of those talented music director find for the movie. He quit job for the project Lucia.
- Thinbeda kami song went viral on you tube. Many singers tried singing the song.
- Orchestra singer Naveen from Mandya roped for 3 of the Lucia  songs. He had been given 6 months training on professional singing. All his songs are hit now..
- Anand Audio purchased the audio rights of the movie
- Lucia became the first Kannada movie premiered in London with full house and got appreciation from the London cineworld management for unexpected turnout of audiences.
- Won the prestigious “Audience Choice Best Film Award” amidst the stiff competition from Bollywood biggies (Bombay Talkies, Monsoon Shootout etc) .

Now the project Lucia needs funds to release it in theaters in Karnataka. So, we started the pre-order campaign to raise the funds. Pre-orders starts with a price of 500Rs to 5000Rs.

Those who have paid Rs. 5000/- will have a 75% share in Lucia and Life Ishtene movie. Eg. If Someone buys Lucia for 10$, then you get 7.5$ from that sale.
